ONLINE THERAPY FOR WOMEN IN CHICAGO & ACROSS IL, MI, & WI
You’ve been described as independent, strong, a go-getter—but underneath this façade you’ve carefully built, there’s more going on than you know how to face alone.
It shows up in every part of your life—at work, in your relationships, in the way you speak to yourself—but the issues you’re dealing with seem like such a tangled mess that you’re not sure where to even start. You’ve likely tried therapy before and have been putting off trying again because the idea of being told to “just breathe and count to 10” has the opposite of a calming effect.
Here, you won’t get cookie-cutter quick-fixes.
Instead, you’ll actually be heard and get direct, actionable, long-term solutions to help you step confidently into the future.

You want close relationships, but they always seem to come with confusion, drama, or heartache. Maybe you overthink every interaction, worry about being “too much” for anyone, or need constant reassurance that someone cares. Or maybe closeness feels suffocating, and the second someone gets to know you too well, you push them away. When you’re scrolling through social media, you see videos about attachment styles, the effects of trauma, and this-or-that kind of disorder, and find yourself relating to so much of it—you’re wondering whether any or all of these things could be the reason for your problems.
At this point, you’re getting the sense that there must be a deeper reason that you keep ending up in the same cycles. Therapy can help you untangle the patterns that keep repeating, so you can build healthier, more meaningful relationships without fear or second-guessing.

It happens so fast—one moment, everything seems fine, and the next, you’re exploding over something that shouldn’t be a big deal. The people around you say you’re too much, too angry, too difficult, and maybe you’ve noticed them pulling away. But underneath it all, you don’t want to be this way. You don’t want to feel like you might snap at any moment or constantly regret the harsh things you say.
Therapy can help you understand where your anger is coming from, so you can start responding instead of reacting—and feel more in control of yourself and your life.

Caring for animals is deeply meaningful—but it can also feel overwhelming, exhausting, and heartbreaking. As the owner of a problematic pet and someone who’s been volunteering in animal welfare for 13 years, I get it.
The long hours, the impossible decisions, the grief of loss, the feeling that no matter how much you do, it’s never enough. And if you’ve lost a pet, the pain can feel unbearable, but the world might not understand just how much they meant to you.
Therapy with me offers a space where you don’t have to justify your grief or your exhaustion. You can process the weight of it all, find ways to care for yourself in the midst of caring for others, and move forward without guilt or shame.

MAYBE YOU’RE STRUGGLING WITH…
HI, I’M ELLIE.
I’m not your average “touchy-feely” therapist.
Therapy with me isn’t about sugarcoating things or dancing around the truth. You get to bring the messy, uncomfortable, “I can’t believe I’m saying this out loud” thoughts, and I’ll give you the space to say them—without judgment. But I’m also not going to let you dodge the hard stuff. If I see you deflecting, avoiding, or falling into old patterns, I’ll call it out. Not to make you feel bad, but because you deserve to understand why you keep getting stuck.
I hate to break it to you, but personal growth isn’t something you can speed run.
You don’t need to come in with an agenda—therapy isn’t a work meeting. We’re here to figure out what’s really going on, not just slap a bandaid on things. That means looking at your past, not because we can change it, but because it’s still showing up in your life now whether you realize it or not.
The roles you play in relationships, the messages you absorbed, the ways you learned to protect yourself—they didn’t come from nowhere. My job is to help you see those patterns in real time, so you can start making different choices instead of repeating the same cycles you’re already fed up with.
