MEET ELLIE FELDMANN, LCPC

ONLINE THERAPIST BASED IN CHICAGO, SERVING IL, MI, & WI

A space for women who were starting to think therapy wasn’t for them—until now.

Smiling person in a green blazer and black top with a gray background.

I WORK WITH WOMEN WHO…

  • Feel strong on the outside but uncertain on the inside — You’re independent, tough, and people see you as confident—but deep down, you’re not so sure. You’ve always been guarded, and letting people in doesn’t come easily.

  • Struggle to find or maintain close relationships — Whether it’s friendships, family, or romantic partners, relationships have always felt complicated. You either keep people at arm’s length or dive in too fast and get hurt.

  • Carry the weight of a difficult childhood — Maybe your mother was harsh, unavailable, or just never gave you what you needed. She’s still in your life, and you’re trying to figure out how to handle that without the resentment eating you up.

  • Have a quick temper that pushes people away — You don’t mean to snap, but it happens—at work, with friends, in relationships. It’s always been this way, but lately, it’s costing you too much.

  • Love animals and are struggling with grief or stress because of them — Whether you're a pet owner dealing with a difficult animal, grieving a pet you've lost, or working in animal welfare and feeling burned out, it’s a lot to carry. I get it, and you don’t have to bear the weight of it alone anymore.

Helping you unravel the “why” & learn how to choose differently.

My Approach

In therapy with me, you can expect…

  • You might not think your past matters—you can’t change it, so why bother revisiting it? But the truth is, it’s still showing up in your relationships, your decisions, and the way you see yourself.

The messages you grew up hearing, the ways you learned to protect yourself—these things live in our subconscious (whether we want to acknowledge them or not). We’ll look at where these patterns started so you can start making different choices, instead of just repeating the same cycles

  • I’m not the kind of therapist who just nods and smiles while you dodge the real stuff. If you’re avoiding something, I’ll call it out. If you’re spinning a story that doesn’t hold up, I’ll stop you. Not because I don’t care, but because I do

Therapy isn’t about saying the right things, it’s about getting real, even when it’s uncomfortable. It’s only through challenging ourselves that we can really grow—and I’m here to help you do just that.

  • Here, you won’t get cookie-cutter suggestions like “just breathe” or “have you tried journaling?” I want to help you understand the root of the issue so we can find solutions that will actually work for you.

You don’t have to relive every painful memory to understand how it’s affecting you now. I’m more interested in how your past is shaping the way you move through the world today. When something hits a nerve, we’ll pause and unpack it—what just got stirred up? Where did you learn that message? You get to decide what we dive into, but I won’t let things slide when I see something important.

  • Whether it’s saying no, letting people in, or figuring out what you actually want, boundaries are everything. If you’ve spent your life protecting yourself—by being guarded, keeping people at arm’s length, saying yes just to avoid conflict or disappointment; it’s going to feel weird at first. But learning where you end and others begin- that’s how you start living on your own terms instead of just reacting to whatever’s thrown at you.

I know feeling your feelings is probably the last thing you want to do, but it’s necessary to move forward—and I’ll be with you to navigate through them.
